COVID-19 left everyone inside their homes. People were not only scared but were under lockdown for a very long time. However, since things were under control for some time now, some countries decided to uplift the lockdown completely. In addition to this, travel restrictions were also over, and tourists can now visit every place without any hassle.
With that being said, as of the last Saturday, September 17, the Netherlands has finally uplifted all the travel restrictions, especially for international tourists. What they have done is that they have removed the EU entry ban for now.
The current epidemiological situation in the Netherlands is under control which is probably why the government feels that entry to the country should no longer be prohibited. The EU entry ban should be uplifted and people can now travel without facing any hassle, says a report that was issued by the Dutch government recently.
According to the claims, most of the COVID-19 restrictions were uplifted in February itself. Nevertheless, with Amsterdam still recovering from the third lockdown, the EU ban was still continued and not removed by the government.
The government’s policy said that anyone who is coming from outside the Europen Union and Schengen area was supposed to show their COVID-19 vaccination certificate. If the visitor has already obtained the required vaccinations, only then entering the Netherlands was possible. Nonetheless, anyone who was traveling from the Europen Economica Area had the right to travel to the Netherlands without any restrictions.
The Netherlands government confirmed that anyone traveling from Bahrain, Colombia, Hong Kong, Chile, Indonesia, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, and Korea can enter the country without facing any inconvenience or restrictions. This was because all the places mentioned above were considered to be safe according to CNN.
If anyone wants to visit the Netherlands and is coming from outside the EU, it was imperative to fulfill the set criteria. The first criteria was that the visitor has to obtain a vaccine that is approved by the World Health Organization or the European Medicines Agency. In addition to this, their COVID-19 certificate should be anywhere from the last nine months. If these criteria were not met, there is no chance that the tourist can enter the Netherlands.
Dutch officials highlighted that perhaps the EU’s executive council is expected to submit a revision of the regulations for visitors visiting its Member Countries this autumn when they announced the elimination of their final entrance limitations.
The statement stated, “The European Commission, therefore, plans to present a suggestion for modifying the entry requirements into the European Union (EU) in fall 2022.”
Are you someone who is planning to visit the Netherlands anytime soon? Now is the time when you can do so without facing any hassle. However, be sure to carry all the necessary things with you. In addition to this, make sure to follow the safety precautions. Even though the Netherlands has uplifted the restrictions, it is important to ensure the safety of your family members and others.
