The recent initiative by sister company PDD to assist manufacturers expand internationally and develop global brands has come of some big help for US e-commerce platform Temu. Given the initiative, the newly launched US global marketplace seems like all set to expand its operations to some other cities and countries in the near future.
In order to find unique products for its customers, Temu, which launched in the US in September 2022, will rely on the network of more than 11 million global suppliers maintained by Nasdaq-listed PDD. Apart from this, Temu will have access to an even larger range of reasonably priced, high-quality products thanks to PDD’s recently unveiled plan to establish 100 global brands and link 10,000 manufacturers to international markets.
Sole Motive of Temu – Bring High Quality Products at Affordable Prices to the Masses!
Since it launch, Temu’s mission is to give customers access to excellent products at competitive prices so that more people can enjoy life’s conveniences and comforts. According to a press release, PDD’s international supplier plan will give Temu’s customers access to even more high-quality product options from some of the biggest manufacturers in the world.
As per sources, Temu’s advantage over its competitors may be due to its “extensive connections with factories in China,” noting that the company had a “head start in sourcing products” because of PDD’s supply chain resources. The report further adds that Temu briefly held the top spot among Android shopping apps in the US in mid-September.
Temu currently has products available in 15 different categories, ranging from clothing to home goods to pet supplies. The business uses its access to the extensive sourcing and fulfillment network that Pinduoduo has established to design and curate high-end, personalized products for customers from all walks of life.
Temu all set to Lock Horns with Other e-Commerce Giants!
If Temu gains access to the supply chains of goods from reputable manufacturers who are now stepping up to create their own global brands, that head start in sourcing could turn into a significant lead. Many of the most advanced manufacturers in the world, who have developed years of experience in production know-how while working for major brands and amassed priceless intellectual property of their own, are among PDD’s suppliers.
That said, Temu will undoubtedly need to put in extra effort if it wants to attract more clients. According to the company press release, it will aid international manufacturers in comprehending what consumers want and need so that they can create products specifically for their target market. Moreover, consumers will directly benefit from the cost savings generated by the quick turnaround in the form of competitive prices and better-suited products.
