They will pretend you send you a certain amount of money, but they will ask for a small amount first ($50-$60). And if you send them the money, they will vanish and block you. 

  • Adult Bots

Guys and girls are always looking for a partner, and this is the reason that these adult bots  are most successful in scamming someone. They will redirect you to their website which is basically a phishing website. They get all your information, and they use this information to add you to Snapchat whenever the scammers create a new bot. These random users will act like they know you. 

How to Prevent Random People from Adding you on Snapchat?

Snapchat app was considered very safe until very recently when people started searching ‘Can a random person add you on Snapchat app. Well, one of the best ways to prevent random people from adding you to Snapchat app is that you remove yourself from the Quick Add feature. The quick add feature is the most dominant factor when it comes to random people adding you to Snapchat. But you can disable this feature in these simple steps 

  • Open your Snapchat and tap on your profile icon
  • Click on settings and scroll down through the options.
  • After that, click on the “Who Can” option.
  • Tap “See me in Quick Add”.
  • Uncheck the option.

By doing this you are making sure that you don’t pop up in the ‘Quick Add’ section. And so, lesser bots or random people will add you on Snapchat.

And then head to this section and uncheck it.

Block people from contacting you on Snapchat

Random people add you on Snapchat app because you have enabled this feature where anyone on Snapchat, from anywhere in the world can add you. You can modify this feature by tapping on your profile and going to Settings → Who can contact me → and selecting the My Friends feature. By doing so, you can make sure that only friends of your friends can add you to Snapchat and no one else. 

Disabling your Phone number

Random friend requests can be simply ignored but, they are annoying as hell. They just keep popping up and creating a distraction. Well, one of the things you can do is to turn off the ‘Add me by my phone number’ option. To do so, follow these steps 

  • Click on your Bitmoji 
  • Tap on the gear icon located in the top-right-hand corner to open your settings.
  • Scroll down to ‘Mobile Number’
  • Toggle ‘Let others find me using my mobile number’ to off.

Snapchat app has the option of disabling your mobile number on the application completely. Now, what happens is that suppose, you landed on a website that got your mobile number. Scammers will save your phone number and will add you again and again from new accounts, even when you block them. So you if enable this feature, no one will be able to do so. 

How to get rid of Snapchat bots

Snapchat bots are very annoying, you think you might even know someone who has the same name as them and you end up adding them back. When you do so, they will start texting and sending you links. The idea here is to trick the scammers back. If you want to get rid of these Snapchat bots, you will have to follow these steps

  • You can either open your Pc or use your mobile to access Support.Snapchat.com

  • After this, click on the accounts portal and login into your account using your credentials.

  • Now, click on deactivate your account option.

    You will get thirty days before the account gets deleted.

Don’t worry, Snapchat gives you thirty days before your account is actually deactivated. You can always reactivate your account after two-three days. But keep in mind that random requests can not be blocked entirely. These suggestions will only help ease the problem and not completely vanish it. Most people in the U.S are facing this Snapchat problem.
