The Austin Film Festival will host the world premiere of Bob Saget’s final film, Daniel’s Gotta Die, while the fans eagerly anticipate its release.
Daniel Gotta Die will have its worldwide debut at the Austin Film Festival from October 27 to November 3, according to People, along with more than 33 other movies.
While sharing his thoughts on Bob Saget’s passing, director Jeremy LaLonde expressed his eagerness to see how the audience would respond to the late actor’s final appearance.
He even discussed how the whole Daniel’s Gotta Die cast was shocked by Saget’s passing. He said that they were saddened to find that Bob Saget would not be able to see his own work.
The comedy, written by Matthew Dressel, will have its world premiere at the Texas festival and centers on a guy named Daniel (Joel David Moore) who tries to get in touch with his family but finds out they plan to kill him for his fortune.
“Bob was genuinely fascinated with the script and the story, and he came in a very fatherly position early on, ready to assist in any way he could.
He was dedicated to getting every detail absolutely perfect and truly brought the character’s heart to the surface of the writing.
He constantly carried the screenplay pages on site and chatted with me frequently to ensure the character was as I had envisioned, according to Dressel.
“Bob is the one person who deserves to watch this movie more than anyone else. The filmmaker said I will always be disappointed he cannot.
He assisted us in creating a lovely and heartfelt send-off, and I believe that people would truly enjoy it. Said the writer of the film, expressing his emotions to fans.
Dressel is disappointed that Saget won’t be able to watch the movie since he knows how much the “Fuller House” actor loved it, but he is glad that fans will get to see him in one last work and say their final goodbyes.
The day after performing his stand-up routine at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, in January 2022, Saget was discovered unconscious in his hotel room. Soon after emergency personnel came, he was found dead in his room.
A month after Saget’s death, an autopsy report revealed that the cause of death was traumatic head trauma to the back of his skull, probably brought on by a fall.
John Stamos, a close friend of Saget’s for many years, recently told the media, “I’ll never have a friendship like that again.”
I didn’t imagine I would have a friendship like that either. Through joyful times, sad times, marriages, divorces, and deaths, we were there for one another. That’s how Bob’s friend expresses their grief.
This film festival is extremely special to the whole crew of the movie and everyone was emotional similarly to the Venice Film Festival when the whole crowd gave a standing ovation to Ana de Armas.
The Austin Film Festival has released its schedule for 2022.
The film Daniel’s Gotta Die, which was directed by Jeremy LaLonde and is on this year’s schedule, is where Saget made his last cinematic appearance. Jason Jones, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carly Chaikin, and Iggy Pop are also featured in the movie.
