When it comes to movies, series, or podcasts, people are now more interested in consuming content that is based on real-life events. Kim Kardashian has recently released a podcast named “The System,” which is also based on a real-life murder case.
Well, though it sounds very fascinating, and indeed it is very enjoyable to listen to such podcasts and watch such series, the hard work is a lot more than you think.
Taking the consent of real-life people related to the case is very important when anybody is making an art form based on sensitive incidents.
Not taking consent can lead to certain legal allegations and further problems. Something similar happened to Kim Kardashian and her production team.
Furthermore, Kim Kardashian, one of the most influential people, has started a new podcast named “ The System.” In this podcast, she talks about the murder case of Marchell, Marchae, and Linda Chatman.
Marchell was the father of Marchae and Linda. These three people were killed by Kevin Keith. He was later arrested and imprisoned for 28 years.
However, no evidence against him was found. You must be wondering who is making allegations if all three of them were dead.
Well, someone was there while all these things were happening. Marchell’s cousins were the alive victims who witnessed the entire thing. Moreover, they are the ones making allegations about the production team for not reaching out to them.
Moreover, they also said that going on with the release and not paying any attention to listen to the story from their point of view is offensive.
But the Production team claimed that they tried reaching out to them but failed. It was said that the cousins chose to stay quiet at that time. If they are willing to add information about the murder, they are more than welcome to do so.
“At the time, they decided not to share their story and requested we no longer contact them. We respected their decision and gave them privacy. If they have reconsidered, we welcome them to sit down for the podcast at any time.” (Source: Fox News)
But the cousins didn’t seem to be satisfied with the answer. They stated that witnessing such a terrible incident and forgetting it is not something acceptable.
Moreover, they asked Kim Kardashian why she didn’t feel the need to reach out to them and hear the story in detail and then move on with the podcast release.
“You don’t forget something like that. I don’t care what Kim Kardashian says. Why doesn’t Kim Kardashian come out here to Ohio? She doesn’t want to hear from us.” (Source: Fox News)
The very fact that a clash is going on between these two parties confirms that there is a lack of communication between them.
Moreover, Kim Kardashian also expressed her feelings regarding this podcast.
“I’m really hopeful for this podcast, just to get your story out there because I think it’s so important for people to understand that … our system is so f—ed up.”
