On Tuesday, Daniel Craig was awarded a medal of honor at Windsor Castle, bringing him one step closer to genuinely becoming James Bond.
For his various accomplishments in the arts, particularly those in film and on stage, he was appointed a Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George.
Some of the movies and shows Daniel has appeared in so far include:
- Knives Out
- The Adventures of Tin Tin
- Road to Perdition
- Bond (2006-2021)
- Macbeth (Theatre appearance)
- A Steady Rain (Theatre appearance)
The Princess Royal has awarded Daniel Craig the same Order of St Michael and George as his character James Bond. The actor’s contribution to film, theatre (and even intelligence agencies), was recognized with this prestigious award for bravery alongside women who’ve served our country courageously like secret service agents or nurses during war time periods.
Craig, age 54, has been knighted by Princess Anne with the British order of chivalry founded in 1818: the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George.
It’s the same award given to Daniel Craig’s fictional 007 in the James Bond series.
Although Daniel Craig’s run as James Bond has ended, the legacy of the role will continue to be entwined with that of the actor who played him.
The latest tweet from the Royal Family’s official Twitter account thrilled fans as it shared a photo of him attending an event with this phrase, “We’ve been awaiting you.” This phrase is one of the most famous catchphrases of James Bond.
Daniel Craig will next be seen in the movie “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”. This will not be a part of the James Bond franchise.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is a sequel to 2019 hit movie, Knives Out which also featured Chris Evans. This movie will be released on Netflix in November.
In the first film, “Knives Out,” Craig plays Benoit Blanc – a detective with skills that are more than just detecting. He has to solve mysteries and crimes in which people often don’t seem like they’re involved but still get caught up by their guilt after being accused of something they didn’t do.
In the sequel, Craig will continue with his role as Blanc and will be seen traveling to Greece to solve his another case.
In January, Queen Elizabeth II presented Daniel Craig with the Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George.
Craig has previously established ties to other royal family members, so this is not his first time doing so. In 2012, Daniel Craig appeared in an advertisement for the Summer Olympics in London as James Bond alongside the Queen.
The ad depicted a scenario in which Bond was hired to escort the monarch to the Olympic arena. The commercial concluded with the Queen jumping out of a helicopter to enter the arena from above.
