After the COVID-19 pandemic had hit the world, imposing restrictions on everything was the right decision taken by the government. However, with the situation under control, a lot of government officials have decided to give relaxation to the restrictions.

After Panama, Hong Kong finally decided to put relaxation of the COVID-19 restrictions after three complete years, according to Chief Executive John Lee. The mainland officials have signed the approval after such a long period of time.

According to Lee, who spoke to journalists at a regular conference, the number of outbreaks in the Asian financial capital of the world has decreased to around 6,000 each day, allowing the town to reevaluate measures like mandating passengers to remain in room quarantine.

The South China Morning Post mentioned that the week primary care observation period will replace the requirement of hotel quarantine, however, it added that the change won’t be publicized until all the specifics are worked out.

Authorities in China are believed to already have given the actions their blessing. According to Huang Liuquan of China’s Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, the ruling party will assist Hong Kong in its attempts to maintain strong, wide ties between individuals on the island and the remainder of the world.

Huang stated that China seems to have no issue with the government changing its Covid regulations during a different presentation from Lee.

Due to a number of high-profile global affairs commencing at the end of the month locals had already been hoping that border controls, such as hotel quarantine rules and pre-flight PCR screening, may be loosened.

Because the number of reported cases declines, many authorities are investigating if there is room to modify the isolation policy for travelers to Hong Kong who reach the airport, according to Lee. “We’ll make a choice soon and let everyone know,”.

Nevertheless, it is still important to take all the safety precautions. No country is completely free of COVID-19 which is why ensuring everyone’s safety should be the first priority. Hong Kong health officials have asked the public to travel safely but still practice social distancing and other measures. In addition to this, the use of hand sanitizers and masks is still imperative.

Commuting in Hong Kong or outside has now become everyone’s cup of tea but the public need to accept the fact that COVID-19 is still prevalent. Henceforth, it becomes the responsibility of every citizen to look after themselves in the best way possible. In addition to this, the Hong Kong government has also asked the citizens to get the booster dose if they still haven’t.
