There has to be a reason for sure when it comes to why Canada has recommended the public avoid visiting Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Some claims have mentioned these reasons, and “unpredictable security situation” and “presence of landmines” are no exception. Nonetheless, The Union Territory of Ladakh is safe from the warning issued by Canada lately.

Apart from these places, Canada has also warned people against visiting Manipur and Assam. There is a higher risk of insurgency and terrorism which is why traveling to these places should be prohibited.

“Avoid all travel to areas within 10 km of the border with Pakistan in the following states due to the unpredictable security situation and presence of landmines and unexploded ordnance: Gujarat, Punjab Rajasthan,” says the advisory.

It was on September 27 when the government officials of Canada released the travel statement. They have urged people to follow all the cautions when it comes to avoiding terrorism and other attacks.

On September 23, the government officials of India issued a warning to all the students and Indian citizens who are currently in Canada. The main motive of the issue released was to warn people to stay protected from all the types of crimes that are taking place every now and then. Basically, the government of India wants to reduce all types of crimes as soon as possible.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, all the Indian embassies that are situated in Canada itself have personally spoken about the crimes that are taking place there. In addition to this, they have also asked the authorities of Canada to take strict actions without any further ado. In addition to this, the Indian embassies in Canada have also mentioned how the criminals are roaming freely. No action has been taken against them so far.

The staff members of the Ministry of External Affairs have also said that anti-Indian activities, sectarian violence, and hate crimes are rising in Canada with time. Therefore, the MEA got in touch with the authorities of Canada and gave strict orders. As per these orders, strict measures are to be taken against the criminals.

All Indian citizens currently in Canada are also asked to complete the registration procedure. Well, they should register themselves with the Indian High Commission in Ottawa. In addition to this, the same procedure should also be followed for the Indian Consulates General in Vancouver and Toronto.
