Kelly Hughes, an American model who is also a mother of a 3-year-old son, shows her c-section scar for a swimsuit photoshoot. She became the first SI Swimsuit model to embrace her motherhood and show her scars off.
Though the step taken by the model was very bold, not everybody took it positively. Kelly shared her experience dealing with negativity after posting the picture on her Instagram.
But on the other hand, the positive reaction to multiple mothers who overcame their insecurities through her step reminded her of the greater purpose.
In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, she talked all about her insecurities during her pregnancy, coming back to work without the “Ideal” body, and how she overcame everything and embraced her perfectly imperfect motherhood.
When asked about her pregnancy, Kelly Hughes said that she wasn’t ready to go for a c-section. She wanted to have a normal delivery. Perhaps it is because of the bodily insecurities that she had as a model.
But she realized that everything was not going to happen as we plan and agreed for surgery. Later, Kelly developed an infection, and she had to go through another surgery to fight that infection.
It was a very hard time for her to stay away from her son.
Furthermore, Kelly talked about her experience when she went for the swimsuit shoot. Though she was initially nervous, people on set were very nice to her and gave her the confidence she lacked as a mother.
Kelly Hughes told Fox News Digital that she solely focuses on the positive. 99% of people that came upto her were very supportive of her. She also admitted the fact that there always be people demotivating others, but we shouldn’t focus on them.
