This decision was made because on Friday; Ye posted a now-removed status update in which he and Diddy had a text conversation, which Diddy later erased. “White Lives Matter” was coined in 2015 as “a racist response to the Black Lives Matter movement,” It has since been embraced and pushed by white supremacist groups and their followers, as documented by the Anti-Defamation League.
Notable public and political leaders have taken notice of Ye’s social media activity. West doubled down on the hoax after receiving backlash from the fashion industry and beyond, dubbed the Black Lives Matter movement a “scam.”
