Finally, after two complete years, Canada has now made it very convenient for tourists to enter even if they have not obtained the necessary COVID-19 vaccine. Not only this but it will be very easy for the travelers to explore Canada and cross the borders too without worrying about anything else in between.

The government officials spoke to the Globe and Mail and a number of other news houses that Canada is finally dropping the requirements for the COVID-19 vaccine. In addition to this, the country is also reducing the need of getting arrival COVID tests. Basically, the government officials have made the ArriveCan application optional and not compulsory. However, it is imperative to follow all the safety protocols. Wearing masks on train trips and domestic flights is of utmost importance.

The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau who still has to sign the final agreement has been facing immense political pressure in order to reduce all the border rules and regulations. The leader of the opposing Conservative Party, Pierre Poilievre had recently taken out a campaign with other members. The main idea of the campaign was to minimize the vaccination mandates and the ArriveCan app.

It was in the month of March 2020 when the border of Canada was closed. This decision was taken by government officials after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world and left everyone in shock. The borders of Canada were re-opened in August 2021 but there were restrictions imposed.

At present Canada has asked all foreign tourists to be vaccinated. In order to enter the borders of Canada, anyone who is not vaccinated has to take a compulsory Covid test once he/she has arrived at the airport. In addition to this, they are also subjected to a fourteen-day quarantine. Moreover, the tourists also have to upload all the important documents using the ArriveCan app.

This week, a number of Canadian officials sent an open letter to the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. The letter asked to return the border to a normal state. Moreover, it also asked to lessen the restrictions when it comes to entering and crossing the border. Now, it is yet to be seen if Canada will open its borders to everyone without any restrictions or if there is still something that is kept away from the eyes of the public.
