The whole world was shut down when the COVID-19 pandemic hit badly. Not only people were scared to step out of their homes but they were also worried about catching the virus. However, things were under control after the required vaccines were given to everyone. Lately, a big announcement from the President of the USA was out.
There is no denying that the United States is still getting cases where people are testing positive for the COVID-19 virus. However, Joe Biden was very quick to announce that the “pandemic is over in the country”.
This announcement was made by Biden in an interview with CBS. Biden did mention the precautions that should be taken by everyone even today. Nonetheless, he also said that the virus is over in the USA. He adds that there is still we have to work on. However, there is nothing to worry about because it is over in the USA. “People are doing well and are in good shape. Therefore, I think that things are changing, says Biden”.

This announcement was made by Biden right after the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that more than four hundred people are dying every single day and the reason is COVID-19. The sad part is both Joe Biden and Jill Biden, US First Lady had recently caught the virus. Resources say that both of them were completely vaccinated but tested positive for Coronavirus.
It was just some time back when Biden’s administration asked Congress for some financial help. The reason behind this financial help was to support COVID-19 testing and vaccine programs.
According to the White House, a huge section of the American public is safe because they are vaccinated. In addition to this, they have also obtained the booster dose which is why there is nothing to worry about.
The United States has experienced more than five waves of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to this, they have also experienced the deaths of more than ten million people. In addition to this, the USA is still getting new cases every now and then. Nonetheless, the World Health Organization says that COVID-19 is still a public health emergency of international concern and it cannot be taken for granted whatsoever.
Earlier, the Director General of the World Health Organization – Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that COVID-19 is not over. The entire world has never been in a better position to end the pandemic soon. Even though there were fewer deaths in the month of August, the pandemic is not over and there is so much that should be taken care of, he added.
In spite of people getting the required vaccinations and booster doses, there are people who are testing positive for the virus. This clearly means that the pandemic has not ended. All the necessary precautions should be followed and social distancing should be a regular practice. Only then the world will be a better place to live in.
